Congratulations to Digger Cowie, Brandon Feledyk and Matt Driscoll who competed in the South Coast School Surfing Titles at Thirroul Beach, Wollongong on June 11.
With a small swell and at times messy conditions, the results came down to wave selection, grovelling skill and as always - a little bit of luck. Narooma High fielded two surfers in the Senior Boys division – Digger and Brandon. Digger surfed well in the testing conditions but was up against a strong field in his heat and did not manage to progress. Brandon was up next and a 2nd place in his heat took him through to the quarters where he also surfed well against strong competition.
Matt was in the Junior Boys division where he made it through his heat and then had a convincing win in his quarter final. He competed well in a very tight semi-final, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.
A great experience for the boys and good to see Narooma High back competing at this level after many years of absence.
