Below is a quick run down of SRC highlights from 2018, courtesy of Chloe Bobbin and Campbell Allison:
- Pancake Day
- We raised money for school projects, with many students (and teachers) enjoying the delicious pancakes made by Home Ec.
- Valentine's Day
- This was such a success where we raised about $500 . Fresh red roses, chocolates and cards were sold and given out.
- BBQ x2
- The SRC held a BBQ at the zone swimming carnival to support and feed the competitors, with sausages and coleslaw (courtesy of Samantha Hearn), being sold.The remaining stock was sold to students the following day in the quad. All funds raised are to be spent on resources for our students.
- Youth Council
- Several SRC students have been participating in monthly Eurobodalla meetings to improve student community involvement and interaction. They discuss ideas on how to boost school students productivity and morale.
- Relay for life- school team led by Sharnie Bird
- Students from our school participated in, and donated, money for the cancer council. The Narooma High team continuously did circuits of Bill Smyth oval and raised over $1000 for the charity.
- Peer support
- The SRC is currently creating posters to advertise that we are here for younger and fellow students so they can talk and get support with any issues they have with school or other problems.We are strongly promoting that anyone in the SRC is willing to listen and help out wherever they can.
- Bullying no way week
- Narooma High School held a bullying no way week to create awareness and support about bullying. Activities were run all week, involving students in learning and creating awareness and strategies about bullying, with speeches being given to further promote the message.
- Narooma High School Dance
- The SRC ran a 'Welcome to Year 7' school dance with an International theme. This was a great success and certainly boosts school morale amongst the students.
